The kennel for Italian Boxers is found near San Daniele

There have been two articles written about us in the daily local newspapers of Friuli Venizia Giulia.

“Il Friuli” dated July 30, 1998 and in “Messaggero Veneto” dated December 30, 1998 written by a notable journalist and dog-lover Mr. Luigi Porzio.

“I believe it was a day in late spring because it was already quite warm; when I saw for the first time a boy swing open the gate to his home with his little female boxer on a leash.

I remember being stricken by that boy's eyes because they were glossy and bright just like those of his boxers.

This is probably why the vision of that boy with his dog has remained so clear in my mind.

For work related reasons I had to move to the city and interrupt the dog-lovers activities and I never saw that boy with his boxer again.

Years went by, one thing lead to another and I returned to live in my home-town where several more years passed but the boxer continued to palpitate in my heart nearly gnawing away at my body and taking over me ever more.

From that moment I could no longer resist the decision.

I searched for a breeder and with the appropriate information one was advised to me.

The following day I would go to buy my boxer.

The next day my wife and I had arrived before a large iron gate where a very kind and cordial lady had come to let us in and she led us along the path of the garden.

From the opposite side and near the house we saw a tall, thickset man coming towards us and as we approached him I was distracted by some boxers that I could see on the other side of the fence.

Renzo Zolli with Greta della Galassia at the world championship of work at Ludenscheid (Germany) where Greta won in SCH2.

When we were about a couple of meters away from him I suddenly stopped, I looked at his face, I looked him in the eyes and I could not be mistaken, this man standing before me was him, the boy with the eyes so glossy and bright just like those of his boxer's that I had seen for the fist time 35years ago, has now become a famous trainer and breeder of boxers.

From that day about 3 years had passed and during this time I was able to get to know him more profoundly, but more importantly I observed him on the training field – and in time – I had revealed his true qualities and that which struck me the most was his generosity and his availability towards others.

Helping everyone.

Firm and as strong as a boulder, delicate but at the same time with firmness, he conducts his dogs while training and also in a professional and skilful manner he knows how to present a boxer at a presentation competition, nearly possessing a hypnotic power over the subject he presents.

With his passion for this magnificent breed he has given himself a true reason to live.

All this to improve in a rational manner the boxer's morphological profile and its characteristic traits, importing subjects also from Germany .

None of this was easy or without sacrifice because all this was done after his work responsibilities. It is important to realize – however – that a generous and worthy help was offered by his wife whom also developed a passion for the boxer. “A boxer without character is not a real boxer” this is her usual affirmation.

During training he demands the maximum dedication from his human students and that their dog's exercises be driven in an impeccable manner, so that they may conduct them as he knows to conduct them. And when this happens he is happy.

He has come a long way from when he had his first female boxer named LAIKA, not enrolled, and much time has passed from when he could allow himself to afford a dog with a pedigree.

But his perseverance had won because he had never given up just like a dog when he grips a padded arm, his understanding and experience of everything that today is known about the boxer is very vast, he has researched and continues to do so and he struggles to attentively select correctly and attentively to render the breed that he adores so much more prestigious.

This adventure began in 1973 when he submitted his proposal to the appropriate authorities to obtain an acceptance to open a kennel named “DELLA GALASSIA”, that was released in 1975 .

The first litter of puppies that were adorned with this title were born in January 1976 and soon after, with merit given to a attentive genealogical selection of purebreds emerged BRITTA and in 1977 was the first female boxer from an Italian kennel to surpass the selection and be registered in the German book .

Since then followed many other champions of which a few must be mentioned .

To provide an immediate understanding of what this lovable breed is and what it represents and arouses in all dog lovers around the world I would like to quote a famous phrase well known among all boxer lovers:

“A boxer is not a dog … it's a boxer ”.
